The RUC GC has been reported as being “the world’s most dangerous police force” and this page is designed to provide online opportunities for former police officers to share their experiences of serving in hostile and high risk environments, whilst living under constant terrorist threat of murder, kidnap and torture; and risks of serious injury and intimidation to family and friends, by all terrorist groups, and political extremists involved in the Northern Ireland ‘troubles’.
Hopefully, the information contained within this page will contribute towards the security of police officers globally, faced with similar circumstances and also make the general public more aware of the courage, sacrifice and resilliance of the Royal Ulster Constabulary GC.
